Junior Miss Bury Mr England North West Bury

Miss Bury wows Lions Club Carnival

This Saturday Miss Bury, Cherrelle Slater, took part in the Lions Club Carnival parade. Despite the horrific hailstone and rain, there was only a 10 minutes delay on the parade

We were due to set of for the Bury Lions Club at 11am but due to the hailstone and rain we were delayed but around 10minutes untill it stopped

The carnival set off from outside Bury College heading towards the town centre with Cherrelle riding in a Pontiac Firebird car. With a crowd of 8,000 people greeting Cherrelle as she was driven down, it was a fantastic way to start off her reign as Miss Bury 2011.

Cherrelle said ‘The people of Bury were very supportive and all the children and the Mayor of Bury waved and smiled as I went by! The Bury Times took some great images and I got to see the cheerleaders and The Bury in Bloom float. The Band followed closely behind me playing a variety of instruments it was fantastic. It was Brilliant to help such a worthy cause raise funds for all local and international charities and I hope to do more for this organisation in the future. Thanks to the people who turned up in their thousands to help raise money.’

Thank you to David Ingham and Bury times for the images.
